How to get started with therapy

Maximize Your Insurance Benefits

I am an out-of-network provider and can provide monthly superbills for your reimbursement. Many insurance providers/plans offer some out-of-network coverage which can dramatically expand your options when choosing the right provider. I’ve partnered with Reimbursify to help my clients navigate the claims process.

Here are some helpful questions to ask your insurance provider:

  • What are my mental health benefits?

  • What is my out-of-network percentage of coverage?

  • Do I have a deductible? If so, how much is it, and how much has been met?

  • Do I need a referral from my doctor?

FAQs

Have questions? Here are some common questions from clients.

  • The initial session is about getting to know you and understanding your therapeutic goals. It takes several sessions to get a complete history and understand you as a person more deeply.

Therapy is a personal journey and unique to every individual. The duration of therapy is different for everyone, too. Some will come for a specific issue and feel improvement with a limited number of sessions. Other clients use this space for deep exploration, evolution, and healing, which takes longer. Whatever path you choose, I’m here to support it.

  • My practice is currently 100% virtual. I see clients on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm with some Thursdays available.

  • EMDR trained means that a clinician has received the basic 40 hours of clinical training along with 10 hours of consultation. They can begin integrating it into their therapeutic practice.

EMDR Certified means that the clinician has received the initial training, an additional 20 hours of consultation, and taken advanced continuing education in EMDR as well as met other criteria. It is a rigorous process to ensure that clinicians are fully prepared to safely and effectively guide clients through the EMDR process.

  • I have a 24-hour no-cancellation or reschedule policy.

If you cannot make it to session, please notify me outside of the 24-hour window. Otherwise, you will be responsible for the full session cost.
